About This Game Now available for non-VR PCs!A quick announcement from Team Kismet: Since releasing Kismet as a VR title, we have been extremely grateful to receive such a positive response. However, because there are so many more PC owners out there in the world who are still yet to adopt VR, we wanted to find a way to get Kismet to them as well. For that reason, we have added in a third launch option, in addition to HTC Vive and Oculus Rift -- a new non-VR version. We have also dropped the price and added subtitles for English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese. To launch the Rift version, you need to find the game in your Library, right click it, and launch it in the "Other VR" mode (as opposed to Vive mode). If you accidentally launch Vive mode, such as through an icon created during the game's Steam installation process, the game will be unable to find your Xbox controller.Attention HTC Vive Users: Because Kismet is a sitting experience in a room scale environment, we recommend that you find a comfortable place to sit down and then reset your seated position at that point. To do that on the Vive, push the bottom button on your motion controller to bring up the Steam menu, aim at the Settings cog at the bottom of the menu, pull the trigger, and select "Reset Seated Position" from the General VR Settings menu. After that, you can move your head around to inspect the details of the environment and take advantage of positional audio within the experience.Kismet is designed to work with each individual headset's bundled controllers. On Vive it is compatible with motion control, on Rift it is compatible with Microsoft Xbox One gamepad.Kismet has multiple graphics quality settings which are bound to the keyboard. The Lowest quality setting is mapped to the "1" key, Medium is set to "2", and the High graphics setting is mapped to "3". Or, if you wish, you can play an ancient board game with the mysterious teller among the ancient, sand-worn ruins of egypt.Kismet will be someshing I plan to visit again and again, as long as fortune continues to favor me.. basically some of the highest production values out there for VR; incredible card art, characters, animation, lighting and environments. worth checking out as a tech demo even if you aren't into tarot.I plan on coming back frequently for my daily readings.... Well worth the price. Looking up my horoscope online or in the paper sounds boring. But receiving it while in the back of a witch puppet's caravan? There's just something so authentic about that. Hoping to see them surprise us with more features in the future. Basic voice commands would make this even better.. This game is beautiful and convincing. I know its just purely entertainment but the immersion will blow you away and its worth the price. I also agree with another reviewer...I wish I could pet the kitty!! She's so adorable and lifelike.In all honesty, this is one of my favorite VR experience so far.. Very well made VR experience! This is nothing that is overly long or filled to the brim with interactivity. It is rather a very well made small scale experience that can be enjoyed for at least an hour!So if you have 5$ to spare I can definetely recommend Kismet!. the coolest experience in VR yet! you may never have heard of this but damn it's great, it's so incredibly well conceptualized. I really quite liked this as a virtual experience. It delves you into a different place and it is very well put together. It is a short experience but quite well done, it is definitely on the list that I would show to people who wanted to see VR. It takes advantage of the medium really quite well. The only thing I would change is what is outside the cart windows everything else is so beautiful it seems out of place.. Honestly I've only played with this a little, and it's been largely ignored since then. I had expected that you would get a new astrological reading daily, but when it appeared that wasn't the case, the game fell by the wayside. Hopefully the devs add more content. That said, I still recommend it because it is so well polished and nicely put together. It's quant and good for demoing.. excellent concept, terrible value - tarot card readings last about 15 seconds, and the horoscope was only slightly better with like a 1-2 sentence blurb... if you're not interested in the minigames you'll be done within 2 minutes. the fortunes are so weak since there's no questions for you to answer or any other way to feel like the experience was customized, and the explanation of the cards and their meanings are virtually nonexistent.this was after being frustrated by having to figure out how the controls worked for like 20 minutes, if you're on the rift you need to right click the game in your library and launch it in "other vr" mode.. Some clarifications first : I do not believe in astrology. It is a quirky experience with some awesome arts, great voice acting and tons of character. Sadly the AI is pretty bad at the dice game (won on my first attempt, and despite Kismet's opinion, she wasn't even close.). Additionally, the experience is slightly sub-par on the Vive, as there are practically no interactive elements. I want to pet the cat, I want to be able to manipulate stuff in Kismet's cabin. That's why the Vive comes with the wands! There is none of that, as the game seems to have been aimed primarily at Oculus Rift owners. That's too bad, as the wonderfully detailled environment really scream to be interacted with.That being said, it is definitely worth buying (and not asking a refund just because it is more of a one-shot experience! Devs need to eat too, and there is obviously a *lot* of work that went into making Kismet), and if just to give your hippy neighbour who hates shooting robots something she will be entranced with in VR :)tl;dr : could be at a slightly lower price point for the Vive, as it doesn't take advantage of the wands at all, but overall a good buy!
